Shadow Systems MR920L Elite
Rob PincusDescription
FEATURES
The first feature Rob likes about the MR920L is the long slide. It’s basically a Glock 17-style slide with a G19-style grip. Longer slide and shorter grip make this a perfect configuration for a double-stack handgun for concealed carry. The long slide gives you more weight in front of the hand and makes it easier to control recoil than a standard-length slide.
Rob also likes that the MR920L is an optic cut. You don’t have to have the optic on it. In this video, Rob is shooting irons and making head shots at 20+ feet. The optic cut allows shooters to mount the mini red dot optic of their choice. The optic cut can accommodate most major brands of RDS optics directly mounted to the slide.
The Shadow Systems MR920L Elite has front and rear serrations and a lightening cut on top. The barrel is bronze and has a spiral finish. It has a titanium carbide nitrate coating, which has the highest lubricity of any titanium coating.
TRIGGER
The trigger is not flat but has a slight curve to it. Rob prefers this to either a flat trigger or a fully curved one. It has a tab safety (the gun is drop safe and carry safe). Internally, the trigger is a striker-fired system. Externally, it has an aggressive beavertail and texturing.
It comes with three different backstraps for changing the point of aim. The MR920L is available with a 10- or 15-round magazine.
Rob plans to continue testing the MR920L, so stay tuned for future updates on its performance. But with several hundred rounds through it, it feels like a good choice for one of your self-defense weapons.
