Hello folks, I'm Paul Carlson from Safety Solutions Academy and today I'm coming to you for the Personal Defense Network. I'm here at the Glock booth at the NRA annual meetings and I've got in my hand a new single stack Glock 43. Of course everyone has been waiting for the single stack 9 millimeter from Glock for quite some time, last year we saw the Glock 42 which took the defensive world by storm and now we've got the 9 millimeter version, very similar gun, the Glock 43. Again, single stack which gives it a very narrow profile, its overall dimensions are very similar to that of the Glock 26 except for the width, just over an inch. In comparison to the Glock 42, just a touch bigger in several dimensions most importantly however is the mass, we're talking about a gun that is just over a pound and that makes a big difference when it comes to absorbing the recoil of the 9 millimeter cartridge. This gun really is an outstanding pistol, many folks look at it in its size and think this might be a great gun for a woman, that's not necessarily not the case but it doesn't have to be the case either, this is a great gun for people that have average sized hands on down, this gun really just fits well and fit is such an important part of efficiency. When it comes to recoil management and follow up shots, the fit of this pistol, the way it recoils in your hand makes it easy to get the hitch you need to get as quickly as you need to get them. The gun comes with a flush fitting magazine that is six rounds, so the gun has a total capacity of six plus one, and it also comes with a second magazine that has the pinky extension. Now this pinky extension does not add any capacity but it certainly does a wonderful job of giving your finger a place to sit on the pistol for a little bit extra control when you need it. Overall, I'm really impressed with the Glock 43, I had a chance to shoot about 30 rounds through it last night at the Glock 43 launch party, it's an excellent pistol, I'm looking forward to finding out more about the reliability, doing some testing compared to a Glock 26 and a Glock 42 and of course we'll be bringing more information to you when we have it.
