A good way to train, however, I prefer to use the LaserLyte laser training cartridge. You can also see where you have "hit" vs POA with the instant red dot, but the advantage is you train with your actual weapon on different targets. Because the cartridge doesn't have a rim, you can simulate pistol malfunctions, change magazines, rack, etc. without ejecting the cartridge.

I found the LaserLyte system about a year ago and use it constantly for my own training and when working with students. It's great for helping the beginner with trigger control, but equally as helpful for the advanced student to practice a full draw and presentation from concealment, as Pincus demonstrates. Yes, it's a little bit of money for the pistol and targets, but only about three or four boxes of ammo (a cost you'll recoup almost immediately if you train or shoot regularly).
