Integrated Suppressed Rifle (ISR) and the M4A1
Rob PincusDescription
All right, we're here at the Daniel Defense booth at the NRA 2013 Annual Meeting. Now, Jay Duncan has been on Personal Defense Network before. Of course, Daniel Defense is a sponsor of the Personal Defense Network Training Tour again this year, which we really appreciate. Absolutely. We're looking at the latest and greatest.
And right here, we have something that people are really excited about. This is the ISR, and normally we always keep the guns low but I'm gonna go ahead and bring this up a little bit. Tell me about this. All right. So ISR stands for Integrated Suppressed Rifle.
It is a 300 blackout platform firearm. It does have an integrated sound suppressor. The integrated sound suppressor is mounted to a 10.3 inch barrel. The unique thing about this firearm is you'd think short barrel rifle, sound suppressor, two tax stamp gun. No, this is actually a single tax stamp gun.
We accomplished that by the suppressor being permanently affixed to the barrel. You can still take off the end cap and get to the baffle to clean it, but the the shroud for the baffle is actually permanently attached. So it's a single tax stamp gun. Another unique thing is there's a lot of 300 blackouts, a new caliber, really hot, really popular, people are getting into it. And sound suppressors have always been really popular, but we're seeing people kind of cobble together Frankenguns, if you will.
And Daniel Defense wanted to take a fresh approach and design and engineer a firearm from the ground up that is a suppressed 300 blackout platform. So really hot, really cool. All of them are sold for the year. Find them your dealers. Start shipping the 20th of this month.
So real excited about this platform. Now, a lot of people see this and they say, "Well, why would I ever need that? Why would ever want that?" But there are some definitely significant advantages to having a short bowed rifle in the home defense configuration. And there's no doubt that having that suppress rifle is also gonna give you some advantages in that situation where you're gonna have to shoot in a confined space. So this isn't just a novelty.
This isn't just a collector's item. This is really something. It does have practical application and it makes it a lot easier because you only have to jump through that tax stamp hoop once. It's cheaper, it's easier. This is something to consider.
Now you have something else you want to talk about, as well. Yeah, this is the M4A1. Daniel Defense is well-known for our contracts with special operations command and providing firearm solutions to Special Forces soldiers. So we wanted to take a particular configuration of a firearm that we sell to special operations and market to the US commercial market. So, we partnered with one of our distributors Aqusport to do an exclusive M4A1 variant.
Unique thing about this gun is it's got a 14 and 1/2 inch barrel but it has a permanently attached flash hider so that it is not a NFA firearm. It's a title one gun. Could be 4473'd when you walk into a gun shop. If you're aspiring to build an M4A1 clone as SF guys use them today, this is a great platform to start with. You get the shorter barrel length so easier to use in confined spaces.
You've got the longer rail system over a low-profile gas block that gets you plenty of rail space to put all your cool accoutrements on the gun. So really a slick setup for a guy that maybe his first carbine or a guy that might be his 15th carbine. But so just a good all around gun. Comes with the Daniel Defense hammer forge barrels that we're famous for, chambered in 556. Just a real good carbine.
Well, I think it's great. You know, like you said, even with the ISR, people have been buying accessories and putting together guns all along, right. And that's actually where Daniel Defense of course has its roots, is providing some great rail accessories. But the reality is, now you have the capability of designing full guns and providing full guns to consumer, even if they want to head to the website and build their own. Oh yeah.
Get it from the factory and know that it's gonna run when you need it to run. So appreciate it. Hey, no problem, Rob. Daniel Defense at the NRA Annual Meeting 2013. Jay, appreciate you talking to us about what's the latest and greatest.
Yes, sir. Good to see you as always.
