    Description

Back when Rob Pincus started talking about the 7.5FK round, some people confused it with the 5.7mm round from FN. The two rounds are very different – the 5.7mm is a specialty round designed for military and law enforcement use at close range. It’s a small, fast projectile designed to defeat body armor out of a pistol or PDW.

The 7.5FK round has established itself as one of the only options for getting rifle-like terminal performance at engagement distances beyond 50 meters. It was designed to emulate an AK’s terminal ballistics at 100 meters from a six-inch barrel.

Rob does a gel test comparison of the two rounds. Apples to oranges? The results are nevertheless interesting, as well as instructive.
