Black Wing Shooting Center

Here's another important video from the "Personal Defense Network." One of the things I like to do here at the "Personal Defense Network," as we travel around the country is give you the opportunity to look at some of the preeminent training facilities and some of the best gun shops around in the country. Now, previously, we've looked at the Scottsdale Gun Club and I said right here on camera, that it was the best tactical gun shop in the country. It's got a lot of black rifles and a lot of great gear, and of course it's a great place to go shoot. Well, today we're here at Black Wing Shooting Center in Delaware, Ohio, and this is another great place to shoot, and it is probably the best gun shop, as far as all purpose gun shop hunting, we've got recreational shooting, and of course we've got defensive and tactical operations here as well. You can get just about any kind of firearm you want and a lot of the accessories to go with them right here in Delaware, Ohio. Andy Loeffler is one of the instructors here and I've known Andy for several years. He's been through several of my courses he now teaches with me in the Combat Focus Shooting Program. Andy, tell me about Black Wing. Black Wing opened up in 2004 to be, we wanted to be the preeminent destination in our area. We wanted to, we wanted to feature enough product, and enough services, to attract the experienced shooter as well as the beginner. We try to have a real friendly environment, we try to have a real open environment. We emphasize with our training that we can invite anyone who is at any experience level. We feature a lot of different activities out here at Black Wing. As you can see, we have trap fields, we have skeet fields, We have five stand. We do, we're setting up a sporting clays course. We have, the indoor ranges are capable of both rifle and pistol range. We've built in classrooms that makes the training run very well with us because we have a good access to our own, our own range facilities, our own classroom facilities, our own instructoral staff, and we have our own guns that we can use here as well for the training. So we try to be the, we try to be that store that's gonna invite everybody to participate. We try to carry a large selection that's gonna appeal across a broad, a broad cross section of our customers. Again, the beginning shooter, the person who's kinda looking, exploring their way through this who doesn't know what they're going to be getting into, and the experienced shooter that's looking for a new place, or somehow to support, or train, or practice what they're already doing. And really you are full service. I mean you walk in and of course we've got some different accessories and things like that all around us, but over here we've got the pistol counter, of course we've got a long gun room that's got everything from high-end hunting rifles, to your M4 Carbine, your home-defense shotguns, things like that. And then on the completely opposite side of the store we've got the rental area. How many different firearms do you think you have in the rental pool? Well, between the outdoors and the indoor ranges, we're probably somewhere 160, 170 firearms. Wow. Available. We are, we're very proactive about trying to turn over some of that rental stuff. We like to be able to get the new stuff, the stuff that's causing a buzz in the industry, we wanna be able to get that available for people. But the other thing about Black Wing also is the environment, it's also the people, it's the people we have here. We've got a lot of experienced people, not just in the training side with the instructors, but also with our sales staff. We've got people who are capable of offering gunsmithing services. We offer all different levels of training, all different types of experiences, again, for the beginning, or the experienced shooter. We also offer corporate events. We have a large enough facility here that we can, we can substitute for that golf outing that so many people dread going to. We can bring it out and turn it into an event shooting trap, or out on the indoor ranges. We can combine training and recreation into an event so that somebody can put together a rather unique experience something, something that kind of leads us to what we, what we kinda think of as our philosophy here, our catchphrase, we want to experience the exceptional at Black Wing. And I think that you and your, some of your other staff, and the training manager, Robin Salvo, you recently did a youth camp, isn't that right? Absolutely, we've been very successful with our youth training camps in which youngsters, over the summer period, get to learn trapshooting with shotguns, they get to learn 22 pistols, they get to learn 22 rifles, and we've added archery to that program as well so we've done that. We work with the Boy Scouts of America. We've got two scout troops that work through us, their venture crew, we help them, we've helped merit badges and in both rifle shooting and archery, again, we offer a full spectrum of training and other recreational type opportunities for folks. Well, if you're a shooter and you live in the Columbus, Ohio area you've probably already been here, if not, you certainly need to come by. In fact, anywhere in Ohio, or maybe anywhere in the Midwest, if you happen to be passing through, a lot of interstates run through this area, stop by Black Wing Shooting Center, take a class from Andy, or one of his other instructors, do some shopping. And of course, if you're here in the state of Ohio a great place to make your regular stop when it comes time to buy a firearm. I really like the Black Wing Shooting Center.
