2013 PDN Training Tour: Update #6
Gander MountainDescription
This week we're doing the personal offense network training tour update from a brand new firearm super center in Rogers, Minnesota. We are standing here at the gun vault display area. And of course, I'm here working with gun vault and Gander Mountain today. They're both sponsored the PDN tour. This is a firearm super center.
Let's take a look because a lot of people have been complaining about luck of being able to find firearms luck of being able to find ammunition. They've got both here and the prices are back down to normal. As we come down here you're gonna see where in these 40 and tactical area. There are plenty of ARs, there are plenty of M4s. All kinds of brands and all kinds of fair prices.
Now, to be honest are they same prices you would have seen in November? No, but they're also not the kinds of crazy prices that we were seeing during the winter. So things are coming back down to normal. When it comes to ammunition they have 45 caliber here for less than 30 cents around. They've got 22 caliber here for back down to the real prices, you know, less than 15 cents around for some of the big packs.
To get through here we can get past all the target shooting guns and then you can look at some defensive guns. We've got PPSs here. What do we got over here? MMPs for under $500. Well, 1 cent under $500.
It's still MMP9s and 40s isn't easy to find. There's blocks here, there are shields, there's XDs hiding under here. The firearm super centers are really cool. They're not just your standard Gander Mountain. It's not just outdoors equipment which course Gander Mountain is great for.
It's not an Academy location but it's an area that specializes in the actual equipment that you need for personal defense. Of course, all the target shooting, hunting and all that stuff is here as well. And all the security products, the gun vaults the things that help you meet your responsibility as a firearms owner. If you're shooting on the right side and it's getting hits here, that means we can see way too much of the target and the target can see way too much of us. How we're gonna keep from getting overexposed, we're gonna keep the gun in the high-compress ready.
We're going to lean our head just past our foot. Okay. I still can't see the target. Here, what I'm gonna do is slowly bring my foot back underneath my head. Scoot my opposite foot back underneath, or anything's more of a neutral stance, roll back out.
As soon as I see the threat extend touch. If he comes around the corner, he can extend his gun, but right here where I am I can't see his lower body. That's the trick. You're hitting more target.
