"I forgot" is NOT a valid excuse!

When you go to the airport, you can’t fly with your gun! We are headed for another record breaking year according to TSA officials, with more guns confiscated in airports that ever.

Here is a document that shares the breakdown of what was recently found during one week in December: TSA GUNS FOUND IN ONE WEEK

…and here is what they confiscated during the entire year of 2017: ALL OF THE GUNS FOUND IN AIRPORTS IN 2017

The TSA states “most passengers simply state they forgot they had a gun in their bag.” It is of note that this was also the excuse given by a 76-year-old man who was caught with a loaded .380 pistol on his ankle in Detroit back in 2011.

Flying with a (properly registered) firearm is perfectly legal, as long as it is declared and in your checked baggage – and complies with the airlines rules. You should also know that bringing your gun through a TSA security checkpoint can bring fines of up to $13,333 plus possible criminal referral.

Jerry Jones, owner of the Dallas Cowboys famously fined his coach at the time , Barry Switzer after he “forgot” one time as well, placing a loaded handgun in a bag that ended up alerting TSA officers when it went through the x-ray scanning machines.

The bottom line is simple. It’s up to YOU as a responsible gun owner to be aware of you guns at all times, period!

Check.

Double Check.

Have someone else check. And then check again.

Before you go to the airport.
