Student safety is paramount in any defensive shooting practice session. Given the advanced nature of the techniques included in the complete Two Person Armed Defense course, Lesson One starts with an important safety briefing, then leads students through a series of warm-up drills designed to establish sound defensive shooting fundamentals on which to build. As the class progresses, the techniques become more advanced in nature, so take the time to review and practice the information presented in Lesson One before advancing to Lessons Two and Three.
The traditional approach to training for multiple threat engagement is most often grounded in competitive shooting, resulting in techniques that work in the controlled environment of the competition range. The realities of defensive shooting warrant a different approach, however. Lesson Two begins by addressing the differences between conventional competition-based training and reality-based training, starting with the need to integrate threat assessment and information gathering into each shooting repetition. Students learn four critical aspects of assessing their environment, which includes stopping an additional threat, recognizing the need to avoid being shot, recognizing the need to help others, and gaining a position of advantage. The concepts and techniques are then integrated into the first of many live-fire drills to follow, focused on multiple threat engagement scenarios.
Having learned and practiced the foundational concepts and techniques presented in Lesson One and Lessson Two, students now advance through a series of progressively complex drills that develop their two-person shooting and multiple threat engagement skills. Lesson Three teaches The Three C’s of Two-Person Armed Defense: Coordination, Communication, and Cooperation, and how to build each into your training sessions. Plus, you’ll learn Position Sul as an alternative ready position, and see why it is so effective in multiple person armed defense situations. The increasingly complex drills presented in Lesson Three provide viewers with a unique opportunity to observe the lessons learned by the in-class participants and to apply what they’ve learned to their own range training sessions.

Description

This class takes you inside a live-fire training session led by PDN’s Rob Pincus. You’ll feel as though you’re on the range as Rob shows two experienced armed individuals how to work together to defend themselves and others during an armed confrontation. The number of concealed carry permit holders in the United States is at historic levels and the likelihood of encountering an armed ‘good guy’ during a spree shooting or similar confrontation is greater today than ever before. By practicing and applying the lessons and techniques shown in this very special PDN distance education presentation you’ll learn to avoid potentially lethal mistakes and make you and those around you safer.
